"Hot Salt Cold Light" An Oceanopera Premiere

"Hot Salt Cold Light" An Oceanopera Premiere

A few years from now, rising waters submerge the coasts, and a lonely device loses contact with a server. Tek, a stranded drone engineer, and Tel, a marine biologist, receive a mission from space: a billionaire CEO, who has escaped Earth to orbit in his spaceship, wants them to hack the global whale communication network because the old maps don’t work anymore. While they grapple with whether to comply or rebel, the Art Buoy warehouse beside the Hudson River sinks deep into a mesmerizing spectacle of blue lights, where whales sing in an uncannily beautiful underwater soundscape. "hot salt cold light" is an experimental rock opera about missed messages, untranslatable communications (both alien and cetacean), shitty jobs, and rising waters.

10% of ticket proceeds will go to Whale and Dolphin Conservation Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to stopping whaling, creating oceanic nature preserves, and working toward healthier seas.
